cut, paste, layer, repeat

In 2010, I began the daily exercise of making what I call a "digital mash-up." With no preconceived ideas, I scanned clippings from discarded magazines and played around with them in Photoshop. Series of landscapes and cloudscapes emerged because most of the clippings came from science and travel journals. In reaction to the dense compositions of some of these works, I began making minimal abstracts focusing on colour and texture. The source clippings for these visual buffers were the colour backgrounds from advertisements and fashion editorials.
